ACTIVEHEALTH MANAGEMENT'S INTELLIGENT PERSONAL HEALTH RECORD NOW AVAILABLE

ActivePHR® Leverages Evidence-Based Clinical Decision Support Technology to Improve Clinical Outcomes and Lower Costs

NEW YORK and LAS VEGAS (AHIP Institute) — June 19, 2007 — ActiveHealth Management (ActiveHealth®), a clinically-based, technologically-driven health management services company, today announced the availability of ActiveHealth's intelligent personal health record (PHR). ActivePHR enables health plans and self-insured employers to offer consumers a dynamic and easy-to-use, patient-centered and patient-controlled online record that organizes all of the user's pertinent health information, as well as provides useful health trackers and medical alerts. Unlike other health records, which are simply electronic storage bins, ActivePHR utilizes the most sophisticated clinical decision support technology available today to provide proactive individualized information that will help improve clinical outcomes, eliminate gaps in care and lower costs.

ActiveHealth will demonstrate ActivePHR June 20-22 at the AHIP Institute Conference in Las Vegas at booth #1208.

"Health information is often dispersed among a number of physicians, hospitals, pharmacies and other healthcare providers. This can lead to medical errors, adverse patient outcomes, costly hospitalizations and disabilities," said Lonny Reisman, MD, CEO of ActiveHealth. "ActivePHR fulfills the personal health record vision by not only aggregating this data, but also leveraging clinical intelligence and data analytics to actively drive patient activity, access and interaction between physician and patient."

ActivePHR comes pre-populated with data generated from consumers' experiences with the health system. The product produces an evolving, comprehensive picture of the user's health by automatically collecting key medical information each time users visit doctors, fill prescriptions or get lab tests. Users are also encouraged to add personal information such as height and weight, smoking status, allergies, over-the-counter medications, and herbal supplements. When a user enters information in the PHR, it is not simply stored in the record, it is analyzed by ActiveHealth's patented CareEngine® System to identify if there is any issue and the user and their physicians are alerted immediately to the concern.

CareEngine® System continuously gathers and compares each user's information against evidence-based rules to pinpoint gaps in care, medical errors and quality issues, ultimately lowering costs. ActiveHealth's Clinical Development Center, which consists of 20 clinicians, including 17 board-certified physicians, develops and maintains a timely, vast set of rules based on trusted sources such as publications and position statements of major medical organizations and peer-reviewed journals. These rules are loaded into CareEngine® and the data is analyzed anytime new information is received on a consumer.

As opportunities for better care are found, ActivePHR automatically sends individualized and actionable alerts first to users' doctors. It also notifies users to check their ActivePHR for important updates specific to them. Examples of alerts include potential adverse drug interactions, absence of therapeutically beneficial drugs and missing lab tests. By sending these alerts to both users and their doctors, both parties are provided with the information they need to make informed decisions and to collaborate intelligently and productively. ActivePHR also reminds users about important preventive exams such as mammograms and colonoscopies.

ActivePHR is a user-friendly tool with information organized in a simple and logical manner. It is available online 24 hours a day. Data encryption and secure logins provide users with the ability to store and organize all of their health information. To facilitate information exchange and communication between users and their doctors, users are able to give their doctors online access to view their PHR, or they can print out portions of their ActivePHR to bring with them to appointments with their doctors.

Lab results are automatically entered into the tool's health trackers, where members can monitor progress toward their health goals. Users also can take information obtained from their doctors, such as blood pressure or weight, and enter this information in the health trackers section. ActivePHR is further supplemented by a health risk assessment (HRA) tool that is integrated within the PHR and analyzed with other sources of data. When users enter information into the HRA or trackers, they are immediately alerted if a healthcare concern - such as a potential drug-drug interaction - is identified.

ActivePHR supports the Federal priority to provide Americans with electronic health records by 2014. Public and private sector initiatives are driving healthcare IT connectivity and interoperability to improve care and lower costs. ActiveHealth's development of an intelligent PHR and role in data exchange and Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO) activities is a key step in reaching these national healthcare IT goals.
